Ultimate Dubs
Ultimate Dubs kicked off the 2018 show season with its usual BANG! Over the weekend of 10 - 11th March at Telford International Centre. Cars that had been worked on over the winter months were brought out to show the waiting crowds in the hallway.
The Mk1 Golf Owners Club were no different with a distinctly German colour scheme ensuring a 6th year in a row win for Best Club Stand.

The 2018 Annual Gathering
Picture 8.png

Next up was the Annual Gathering. Now in its 14th year the event was once again back at Stratford-Upon-Avon racecourse. The regular format was kept meaning a "Pitch and Party" night with old and new friends, Saturdays' AGM and drive briefing before the cars took to the roads for the popular "Drive Out" to Pigeon Tower once again, back for the fancy dress disco and on Sunday a Show and Shine competition with awards to close the weekend.
The weeks and days leading up to the weekend had been getting hotter and hotter. On Friday afternoon putting tents up was a sweaty activity but with a cool drink at the end it was well worth it. The wind increased and gazebos struggled to stay put. The Drive Out just about stayed dry - until we arrived back at the racecourse when the heavens opened! Thunder and torrential rain put paid to BBQ ideas and the campers sought out the on-site catering van or a meal out rather than cooking.
"The show must go on" they say and so it did. Spirits weren't dampened and the fancy dress disco continued as normal. A great time was had by all.

NEC Classic Car Show 9 - 11th November 2018
As another year came to a close we organised one last club stand. The NEC Classic Car Show is always a great event and Anna Bebbington pulled out all the stops once again to arrange the cars from the winning line up at the AGM.
It's a hectic time on the stand with lots of visitors looking around the cars.
The most used phrases were "I used to have one of those" or "My dad used to have one of those".
