Warm Up Regulator (WUR) options
(Sometimes referred to as the fuel pressure regulator)
On the Mk1 GTI this is mounted on the front face of the engine above the oil filter block. On the 16V engine it mounts at a slight angle on the gearbox end of the head, just in front of the coolant outlet and sensors. The two bolt holes can be seen on Image 2 - 9A Block with sensors, seen between the dipstick and position #3.
Either the mk1 or mk2 fuel regulator can be used; however the mk2 16V spec has an air outlet which connects to the vacuum system next to the ISV/AAV. This is the preferred option.
