Wheel Hub Centre Bore
This is the centre diameter of the location lip of the hub of the car, a Mk1 Golf is 57.1mm. These are very accurately machined surfaces on both the wheel and the hub. This is what centres the wheel on the hub then the wheel bolts hold the wheel in place.
If a wheel has a larger bore size then you can purchase a set of Spigot Rings to reduce the size. If the wheel has a smaller bore size then a specialist machine shop can enlarger them for you at a cost ££.
Again this is fully dependant on the wheel you want to fit.
