The provisional plan is:
Fri 24th May
UK mk1's arrive in Dublin Port about 14:00, link with a few mk1 owners and a welcome from Autostadt.ie, and head to mini meet and rest stop in Athlone, travel onto Galway, stay for 2 nights in Connemara Coast hotel on a B&B basis. This will be the base for the weekend. Others are staying close by in Hotels, B&B's and campsite.
Sat 25th May
The plan is to drive out to Connemara on a classic car run, starting at 11:00 taking in Costello, Clifden, Kylemore Abbey/Castle picture stop, Lennane and back to Galway. Dinner will be in the hotel that night. Anyone who wishes to attend is welcome. More details on this later.
Sun 26th May
Drive to the Limerick VAG & Classic Car show, just outside Limerick city. Massive mk1 meet up (all welcome to attend). After car show, UK Mk1 owners continue on to Dublin, overnight in the Maldron Hotel Smithfield.
Mon 27th May
Morning at leisure, take in some of the Dublin city centre sights or a trip to the Guinness storehouse and return back to UK on the afternoon ferry.
Should be a great weekend!

I'm planning on heading to this myself if all goes according to plan.
Attending the All-Ireland Italian day in Lisburn on the Saturday in the Lancia and provided it's still working, I'm heading to Limerick on Sunday in it armed with a camera so I can get an idea of how much is missing from my Golf!
I know there are several bits of trim absent from the car, (including rear and passenger seats) but as to what they should be, I'm in the dark, but enlightenment (or depressing reality) is only a few days away
Hopefully there'll be some bits for sale there too.

Good Stuff lads - hopefully an action packed mk1 weekend!

I came, I saw and I went home with a list of stuff that's missing from my yoke!
Shopping list now compiled and the hunt begins.
Plan is to have the car OTR by 20th. July and have it in decent enough shape for Limerick next year and get on with the bodywork on the long-suffering Lancia.
It's all good on paper anyway!
I must say there was a great turnout for the Mk1 GOC so thanks to all for the inspiration.
