pic heavy update 22/12/2011 !!

sorry lads its going to be delayed slightly found a very badly repaired rear arch they never got rid of the old rusty arch so i ve decided to replace properly best place to get the arches from? i ll add some pics tomorrow when i ve stripped it down

hi i have some more pics for work i have completed over the last few days. most of the work done this morning as it s so much easier to work in an empty bodyshop no destractions from the lads that work there or customers !!

this morning i finished the drivers side arch welding it back on and skimming with some filler. the passengers arch has been completed to thats been skimmed but still needs some finishing touches to get a perfect finish. tomorrow i shall be trying to get the under arches re stonechipped as i found some bits that i was nt happy with so stripped back. once this iss done there is a bit of finishing on the bodywork and then it can be primed i cant wait to drive this car.

really enjoyed reading through your thread phil,good to see such a thorough job been done.looking at the pre strip down photo's it looked a minter but as always once you start tinkering you'll find the dreaded brown stuff.

the car did look good but like you say you just keep findin the car cancer and keep operating but it will be worth it !!

hi again, justthought i d update a few more items sorted today so i thought i d add the pics.

today i finished my repairs to the back ends of the sills which included adding the stone chip. re stone chipped the rear arches and put another skim on the rear arches of filler.

Sound progress seem to be moving very quickly.

i wish it was moving faster its been in since may !! i ve drove the car twice from south wales to staffordshire then from my house 10 mins up the road to my mates bodyshop and thats it loved the drive back from wales so cant wait to oget it done and drive it again !!

hi , another update from todays work.

today i have finished the arches and just blew some etch primer over to show any imperfections, sealed all the arches under neath and applied another coat of stone chip so they are no complete. also started making a rack to put the car on while its painted .

hi mate,

did it need any inner rear arch repairs? Im not sure how much to cut out of mine,

as the lips of the inner arch is rotted, and around the pretol filler (on the inner arch side…..

Top job Barty. I notice you've filled the joint between rear panel and rear corner. Should look nice and smooth but are you worried it will crack at this point? (I hope not, the standard gap can look a bit untidy!!)

hi andy, i have smoothed over it but it will reappear as i will just ….. erm make a new grove just with a piece of folded paper otherside has already been done it just makes things a little neater i think i ll add pics tomorrow as i need to get the rear panel sorted and complete really tomorrow
