1980 Mars Red GTI BRMotorsport 142

I've got to paint the wing and door bolts.

A lot of fiddly little bits and bobs in the interior.

Rear arches trimmed and fitted.

Clutch released from the gearbox as it's stuck!

Paint calipers to protect them from where I grinded them.

Rear tailgate electrics to complete.

Drivers door shut tyre and fuel decals to fit.

Confirm and set up all the correct size wheel spacers once the arches are on. Then trim wheel bolts down to size accordingly.

Adjust passenger side seat tartan slightly.

Number plates.

Strip and re-paint door mirrors. Didn't use etch prime and they're flaking!

Re-polish all paintwork with mop

Spare wheel to re-paint, and fit new tyre.

Full interior valet, as it's filthy.

MOT, Tax and enjoy our 3 days a year of sunshine.

So, there is a little bit to do. Can't do much for the next week or so as I've got to replace mk2's calipers and tyres, then MOT and tax that!

This car never went to Parbold meet. It was under restoration back then. But, I did take the one Butler has now. I owned them both at the same time. After a while I saw sense and parted with one of them, so I could concentrate my efforts.
This car has been in bits for almost 5 years.
Both are very nice!!

and hopefully they`ll be both on the road by summer.. :mrgreen:

Its going in for full respray in april, new wings, doors, bonnet and tail gate off, the full works.Its getting done by a porsche restorer in denton so should be ready for may time.. hopefully

Mines back from the bodyshop now - really pleased. Have updated my thread over on *cough* edition 38 :wink:

Only had a short amount of time today as I had to MOT my mk2.

Got to replace the tailgate stripe in a lower position, and put the advisory decals inside the driver's door shut.

Rear plastic arches have been trimmed and mock fitted. Will need to do this as next job. I will be doing some more bits and bobs from my job list, next Tuesday.

wow i hope my car looks half as good as this when finnished 8)

It is Mars Red.

The camera is just a phone… Sony Ericsson K850.
 
I usually have to edit the light and colour settings, but on this occasion, I didn't bother.
