Next on the list was to repair the quarter panel area that had been welded.
I put in a skim of filler the guide coated it to see any low spots when i blocked it ….

I didnt do too badly on the first skim which as only a small area came up low ,lol

Next area to get some attention was the nearside rear quarter which was badly repaired last time and the whole panel was wobbly so in went a big skim of filler to sort that out!

that was blocked off..

And when it was straight,on went some primer and again guide coated then blocked off again.

Once i was happy with all the repairs and all the rest of the little bits of paint were finally removed i etched coated  it in the oven..

then once that had flashed off i primer coated it..

So more blocking for me!oh joy  :D

My O/S panel looked the same as your N/S for exactly the same reason.

I'm twiddling my thumbs in anticipation to see the Black going on, the time and effort you've put into this is going to give fantastic results I'm sure  :y:  :y:

Once out of the oven i guide coated the shell and will leave it a while for the paint to sink back so i turned my attention to other areas that neede sorting.

The front panel had rust all under the paint…

So out comes my trusty Die grinder with attachment to sort that quickly and without damaging the steel..

Now you see it,now you dont

Dry flatted the primercoat down on the bodyshell ready for its undersealer and first coat of paint …

Once i`d done that i turned my attention to the underside of the bonnet as it was scabby with rust spots

So i took them off with my trusty die grinder

Sorry but what end are you using on the die grinder and where will I be able to get one from?

That would come in handy for what I'm doing atm.

Cheers

Not been on this one for a while asi`v been in Germany a lot and the workshop has had a change of ownership but  its all back on track now.
After the first topcoat was sprayed i wet blocked the whole bodyshell to check that all the panel were straight and there were no ripples or small dents.

Once that was done she was ready for the final topcoat!!
