All the people givin it "didums" ect, just puts me off even further. TBH if thats the attitude you get when you have a clear case where a scammer has "harrassed and threatened" a new member of your community then I'm definately better off elsewhere.
I dont blame the site. I do think that when you get a person reporting that a member of the club is engaging in activities that it is a club matter. Tell me, if you got scammed then told to come to a forum for advise and then this happened to you despite having 100% evidence of the violence threats on me and my house, insults to my missus, use of the mk1 club name as a threat etc, would you turn up to a meet?
And then if you tryed to engage the community which was being tarred by that brush and got a bunch of "funny b4st4rds" taking an opportunity to make light of someones misfortune, what would you think.
To the few out there that pointed out it isnt the clubs fault and had some empathy, thankyou. However I still think its a club issue based on the emails I have here, which stilll havent bee checked by the moderators.
Sometimes you think why bother. And thats exactly what reading this thread made me think.
Moderator time spent sorting it out??????? did you ever get back to me with a place to send the full emails and headers?

Whilst I have every sympathy for your bad e-bay experience, one must always remember the maxim, 'buyer beware'.
Leaving that aside the matter of allegd threats of violence and threats to commit criminal damge to your property are a matter for the police, whilst they should be reported to the moderating team, what do you expect them to do beyond banning the forum contributor concerned - note the clear delineation here, 'forum contributor', not club member. this is a public forum and as such is subject to all the mysanthropy that any dealings with the general public brings. Even should the alleged offender prove to be a ,Club memebr', I'm not sure what you expect to happen beyond there censure and banning.
If you have evidence of criminal offences being disclosed e.g deception, harrasment, threats to commit criminal damage, then you should report them in the first instance to the police.
However 'whinging' to all and sundry will achieve nothing and does nothing to strengthen youir case. announcing to all that you are leaving a forum will invariably be met with the inevitable response of, ' oh dear how sad never mind'.
Not withstanding my comments I am genuine in my sympathy for your plight, but i feel that you have gone about the matter in entirely the wrong way. someone misusing the name of the Mk1 Golf owners club is of concern, but in actuallity there is very little the club itself can do to prevent anyone doing that. You appear to be tarring everyone with the same brush , whilst behaving like a petulant child.
I sincerely hope that matters are resolved to your satisfaction.

I had proof that he had used the clubs name to threaten me with and no one followed up like they said they would from the admin team.

Foxy, totally get your point, put yourself there in the situation. Missus reads the emails over your shoulder and starts callin the police herself on the evening it happened. I had a barny with her over it as I said that the guy had threatened yes, but I'd be aswell to hit hit where it hurts by reporting it to ebay and to the sites where he was advertising, perhaps get some justice on the moses level rather than have to spend hours dealing with statements to get no where with the police and have our lives interuptted.
Be real about it, think what who you do if an individual did this to you. Think about what youd do if someone starting talking about your missus like shes a piece of trash, so yeah, maybe gone around it a bit the wrong way, maybe it is a matter for the police, but im damn sure that if anyone read the mails I got they would distance themself after recieving no support, regardless of the vengful motive.

Your life has already been interrupted. If he is doing something illegal, you cannot expect forum administrators to be the police just because you can't be arsed with the hassle.
As for someone hassling my missus…that aint going to happen in a hurry unless I turn lesbian, which also aint going to happen in a hurry. But if it was me, yes, I'd report it to the police. If it's worth the time you've spent complaining about it on here, it's surely worth the paperwork.

How can you fault the club then, when you've independently complained to both us and eBay, and both have taken the same action? I'm afraid there is no higher appeal, than complaining to the mods and allowing them to come to a decision.

'As the transaction took place through Ebay,it is nothing to do with this site . The police should have been informed. Especially if the alleged threatening behavour took place. Seems like we've been dragged into an argument that really is none of our business'
