series 1's are the ones with cabriolet size rear lights (1974-1980) swallowtails are between 1974 and 1976 (i think)
series 1's come up for sale every now and then and so do swallowtails (not as often though)
speak to Dubboy, hes got a minter (i mean minter) of a swallowtail (not original though) got loads done and its clean enough to eat your dinner off (dunno bout driving it though?) or try Pistonheads.co.uk

its a caddy - half a mk1 at least

Found this down at my localish breakers yard.  Never seen a mk1 there before so suprised to see 3 of them.  Got myself some side strips, fuel pumps, fuel filters, cam covers, door cards, alternator bracket and a non rusty filler pipe.

Hi, first post here thought i'd point you toward some good information on the swallowtail.

Check out www.swallowtail.info for all you swallwtail needs. (like when they were made, why they are different than a normal mk1, and they are! etc.)

One place to check out for a swallowtail, is a barn.  Let me elaborate.  You may remember Stu's '75 Swallowtail, i was the previous owner and i found her in a barn less than 10 miles away from my home. They do exist.

Cheers
Pete

Found this 1.6 while walking the dogs, contacted the owner, very nice guy. Bought widscreen, door cards(inside barn, dry) center console and a few more bits. The shell is too far gone now, shame.

The fire engine behind is not for sale, I asked!

There are some amazing pictures here, makes me sad to see some of these old girls just wanting for a little bit of elbow grease & Auto Glym.

I'm currently giving serious thought to picking a P-reg mk1 in similar condition to some of these.

Seeing all these US spec cars leads me to my next question:

All these chrome bumpers and small rear light panels are they same has the highly desired ones we have in the UK/Germany etc… I only ask as the car I mentioned above needs bumpers, door handles & mirrors.
