Looks good! 1.6s are pretty rare in that condition, well done. Those alloys are rare too, don't get rid of them.

1.6s are turbine smooth in operation, lovely engines, sweeter than the 1.8s and more characterful. Lovely kick in as the engine comes on cam at 4000rpm. Enjoy!

Stunning car and ?3k is a very good price IMO, you got a bargain I reckon.

I've never driven the 1.6 gti before, getting more curious all the time. What's my banks phone number…… :lol:

I must say Wez from the pics it looks like a cracking motor!

I actually put a post up on the club saying "Tidy mk1 on ebay". If I spot good ones i usually bring it to the attention of the club.

So yeah nice mk1 mate and good to have you on board!  :D

I used to own a mk1 - well I've had 2 actually - YDU 720X & SMU 420Y. Currently I drive an 98 Scotia White Mitsubishi Evolution V RS…. fancy getting another mk1 someday :D
