You know you've been driving a mk1 too long when...

To be fair to the MK1 one it is not her fault. I have three cars and the current call out score for this year is:

Saab 93 - 2 call outs
Renault Clio - 1 call out
Mk1 - 1 call out.

It could be worse when not too far from home I have used the Saab to tow the other two home!

4 is not that bad, a guy I used to know had a cr@ppy old B reg' @str@ and he must of had them out between 8-10 times he got charged a fair bit towards the end of the year - thing was he had a big stereo which drained the battery all the time, besides its overheating problems and general poor condition, he wasn't the AAs favorite customer

Hello All. I find the most common problem others have with my Mk1 is when they try to get out and cant figure out how to undo the seatbelt, they can never find the release button so i end up having to do it for them. ha. Another common problem is at this time of year when the sun is going down i put my lights on and passengers think i only have my sidelights on, ha. "Im quite used to my candle lights thanyou very much" i reply. Joking aside i wouldnt swop my Mk1 for all the tea in china!! :D

When you arrive somewhere after driving through dusk/dark, park the car, lock it, walk away and proudly look back at the car.

Then realise you've left the lights on and there's no warning buzzer, so you have to go back and switch them off.

Say it loud!  I do the same at least once a week.

when you spend more time in your car then at home or at work!

when as soon as you get paid from work the money goes towards MORE new parts for the golf…even if you DONT have a drivers licence and the car doesnt move (legally)  :D
