How old were you when your Golf was new?

My Campaign was built the day after my 13th birthday. Ahhhh. I was probably a spotty little oik at the time.

I was 16 when my current '83 GTi was born.
Am I the oldest on this site ?  :dontknow:

On a brighter note. I got my 1st GTI, a Lhasa Green 82 model, at 21 and toured France in it. Happy days   

i was 13 years old, so many plans what i was going to do with my future, oh well at least i managed to own a mk1 gti. who knows in another 18 years i might buy a mk5.

My cars 30 very  soon wish i was    yeh pass the pipe n slippers so i was 7 at the time  remember the time my dad got a brand new company car a vauxhall chevette how old do i feel.

…when I was born the VW FACTORY was just being rebuilt after the war      
…my roll bar is actually a well disguised detachable Zimmer frame….

my golf was born in 76' and i was born in 84', it started life in Germany then moved to france, then begium and now england, so i suppose you could say its been around the block and i lone it  8)

I am three days older than my golf. It was first registered 07/02/83

I was 14 years old, my current campaign was registered in october 83.

my first GTI Lhasa Green on a Y plate, my dad had a MG metro at the time but kept nicking the golf when he could. had to sell due to the insurance company's putting the premuims up and tagging the GTi with the Hot Hatch

aaaah I was 18 when my Cabby was first registered (1990), my last car was 2 years older than me   (Obviously not a MK1 Golf!!)

mine was registered in 83, i was registered 84

I was 9 when my 83 GTI was born.  My first mk1 was a mars red CL 1.3 when i was 17, but i always wanted a GTI  

My first Mk1 Golf (now sadly no longer with us) was 1979 on a T-plate.  It was literally a few months younger than me (18th Dec 1978 is my b'day).

Both my Mk1 Golfs I have at the moment were registered in 1983 on an A-plate so I would have been 4 and a bit when they were registered.

My Mk1 Polo was registered 13th Jan 1977, so I was nearly -3 when that was "born" - lol

mine was registered 12th August 1983.. I was nearly six years old..

3 years later my dad bought a brand new Mk2 8v GTI.. and the love for VW started then.. my little fingers where just the job for cleaning between those BBS RA's.. now I know why my dad got me to clean the car and wheels for my pocket money!..

My GTi was born on 18th June '76 if that is close!

But would you ever sell it?

I was 4 in 1979 when my golf was born. My dad had a Brown Austin Allegro at the time.....Nice!
