Or did it look like this…..

If it was a 6R4 we will let you off….

I used to own a mk1 - well I've had 2 actually - YDU 720X & SMU 420Y. Currently I drive an 98 Scotia White Mitsubishi Evolution V RS…. fancy getting another mk1 someday :D

Metro

Was it an 85 year old, tweed flat cap wearing, whippet racing, mild drinking old giffer driving it? If it was...It could have been Chudd! :D

A few years back I got absolutely thrashed by a fairly standard looking Morris Minor. Had a closer look later on and it had a 2.0 turbo from a Montego in it!

Saw off a Ford Puma 1700 in the MK2 the other night :D

MK1 GTI Campaign
MK2 GTI 8v
Imitation Magic Tree - 'Black Ice' smell
Plenty of rust
Embarrasing fuel problem

I must admit I have a soft spot for mg metro turbo's. Cheeky little things….. how rare are they getting now though.

Walt see if you can find a mint one of those to preserve in your heated garage.

My mate used to work in a pizza shop… he had a bog standard metro… stripped out…. home made role cage…. painted matt black with flames on the bonnet and down the sides. It had cibbes on the front and he wrote V8 turbo on the back! Hilarious…. I got to see if he can send me some pics of the beast! ha ha

And chudd shame on you racing at your age! I'm surprised the arthritis in your joints came cope with all the strain.

Passed a Ferrari 355 and Arial Atom at Elvington. To be fair the I spoke to the Atom's owner afterwards and he's just got it and they were setting up the suspension.

The Ferrari had no excuses although it has to be said that my particular MK1 is far from standard!

LOL! I just read all of this thread - the first couple of pages made me wet myself

I saw off a R5t, Volvo T5 and a A3 20vt at Pod last month but got done by a Nissan Pulsar GTI-R.

I've also tangled with a Escort turbo, neck and neck, another A3 1.8T which got pasted but i got beaten by a Fiat Coupe 20vt. Since i've set up 2.0 i haven't had the opportunity to see anyone off, unfortunatly - LOL!. The 1/4 mile slip didn't give a 0-60 but i'm looking at mid to low 6s.

I tried to wind up a Evo 7 the other day but he wasn't having any of it! But with all this wet weather it's making it very dangerous to take it to extremes.

ive had a few quick cars and so have my friends which ive drivern, the golf aint that quick but its torquey and light and thats the key, and really its by far the best handleing car ive ever drivern, i can take some big roundabouts on my way to work around the 60mph mark in the dry and i mean really throwing it into em! now thats amazing for 22yr old car!!
Theres not many cars that would get past me on the twisty roads near me, dry day, id be impossible to overtake! fact! and mines std!!!!
(ok GSXR750 maybe!!!)

I`ve had a few "ding-dongs" with newer machinery….

I always play with an audi 1.8T estate on the way to work (country roads), i`m all over him in the twisties….but then get pasted on the straights  :(   But like a bad rash i re-appear on his backside soon as the bends loom!

 All good fun…..

(PS tried to take on a R32, on a slip road to the M62..he clocked me..and just hit the fast forward button. I`d be lying if i said i kept with him all the way…..I kept with him all the way!   )

Stay out of the black…
 And into the red….

Nice 6R4! (and top money for a rare one) - looks the biz in all the pictures - until you notice that the 6R4 comes with the standard MG Metro steering wheel, dash, and door cards…  8O

Yeah i agree with your train of thought dubweiser…

I`d turn it into a wolf in sheeps clothing too. I`d probably get it repainted 80`s "turd-brown" - official leyland paint option. Get it re-stickered with "City X", put beige velour interior in….

And have some serious fun with all the chavsters, in there saxo`s and calibra powered nova`s……

 oh to be rich
