Standard front springs.

Well, got all my new kit fitted yesterday.

Not a moment too soon, there were two different size springs and one gas shock and one oil shock!

Also, they had left out the top bearing spacer on one side and clamped down on to the bearing, no wonder the steering was heavy!

So at the moment I have a mk2 spacer which is too long and threaded so it's rattling like a bag of bolts.

Anyone got the part no. for the spacer?

What happened after 1980? I don't understand.

Surely it depends on the top mounts and I ordered the ones as per littlekevs mail?

Apparently the spring and spring cup < 81 is smaller than the later ones.

Top mounts are the same but early cup is 1793669622 and late one is 171412341A

The spacer and, I guess the shocker, are the same

Fitted the spacer yesterday and it's worked fine. Cheers Crazy.

No clanking.

Sitting quite high, do new springs and shocks settle down a bit?
