Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who organised & run this Annual Gathering! Myself, my wife Sarah & our two boys Ben & Thomas throughly enjoyed the whole weekend. It was our first camping trip as a family & our first proper "Show" with "Clippy" (C11XBS ). We loved the run out on the Saturday apart from following the convoy which went the wrong way & ended up driving through the stone chips twice!!
Oh well we enjoyed the extra driving time I guess! 😉
It was great to meet other families with MK1s.
We loved the fancy dress & disco on the Saturday night too. We were the Bat family! 😂

A few suggestions for the future :
1. Have a family camping area which is away from the groups which want to boom music out of their camper vans until the early hours. I pitched our tent the furthest point away from the stand to get away from the noise at night. The security need to be much tighter on music being aged after curfew time!
My wife has said that she doesn't want to camp again because of this. 😯

2. Have the toilets & showers nearer to family area. It was a long way to r u  with a 4 year old when they needed a poo!

3. Possibly have a few more family activities on which may attract more families to the event?

Definitely something we as a family want to do again.
Need to work on my wife about the camping thing though!

Cheers

We camp near the gate because it gets louder the further you go up the field !!
This year the wife brought a mask and ear plugs :-)

My wife had both face mask & ear plugs too!

The issue I have is that we purposely chose to camp in the "Family" area & as far away from the main campers as we could to avoid the noise. There was also mentioned to be a curfew for music which wasn't upheld.
There were many families complaining about the booming music & foul language used in the early hours on both nights.
I'm up for a party with the best of them but in the right place at the right time!

Cheers

Valid points Sean Clicker5 , we will be addressing these and hopefully we can help you to convince your wife to camp again!

Me and my girlfriend loved your fancy dress, we thought the Bat Family looked great!

The noise issue will be sorted for next year as will the family camping

There was a site rules leaflet handed to all  and I went several time over to them but once the committee are in bed there was nobody to enforce the rules.

Unfortunately not everyone is respectful and considerate to others, it's the main issue with society nowadays

That list of improvements looks awesome.. That lot would make it the best car show / weekend / event ever!!!

Just a thought that sprang to mind, obviously things like pressure washers and vacs need to be paid for.. How do you propose to raise money to pay for those things?.. In my opinion, the wash and vac valet area should come at a small fee to users, or an extra pound or so on entry. But either way, it should have a charge in order to keep it self funding and also maybe even make a couple of quid for the club.. But how are we going to raise money to pay for them?.. Does the club already have enough funds or do we need to all chip in and donate?.. Maybe where we have a section for donations, people could choose to donate to the site or the AGM itself?. Then there is the question of do we buy quality items which will last or just keep buying cheap ones every year or two?..

Just a thought that's come to mind.

Friday evening entertainment-   A giant TV / Projector screen showing previous AGM highlights  followed by feature car movie
(Gone in 60 seconds ,Fast & furious, Ronin, No Mans Land, Cars 1&2, The Love bug, Bullitt, Gumball, Cannonball ).
Could also feature sponsor ads from insurance companies, cars spare etc…

Good idea but I think we would need a public performance license to show copyright films ?

Cheers,

That correct Licence Fees apply for copyright

I have done some ad-hoc research
A Group Size of 1-249 people means your annual licence fee will be £97.50 about + VAT.

Sounds good to me. All depends on cost of the gear hire.

This was our first ag and we loved every minute!

Having been to many festivals before, I was impressed at how clean the toilets remained and that there were no loooong queues for loos or showers.

We had three kids with us 9-16 and the fact that there was some late noise didn't create a disturbance for us and was actually far less of a hazard than I was expecting.

We also loved the drive out and felt that it was a good length of time and an enjoyable route. Would have been nice to maybe do something en mass at th marina though.

Thank you everyone for making it such a splendid weekend. We will be back
