Will buy a NOS front windscreen seal as well
The repro seal and windscreen are letting in water so badly that under heavy rain a leak in the fuse box keeps the wipers going even if I switch them off..
My finished badges with my own repro badge refurbish decal set will be put on on Wednesday

Decided to not install the other badges since I like symmetry
Photof the flattened 5 speed shifter relay which made it sometimes difficult to shift down from 3 to 2 and from 5 to 4

I really wanted to find an OG green tinted one with white VW stamp but after hunting for a couple of weeks and contacting over 10 sources I decided to fit a good quality repro one
Escpecially after I had a stone chip yesterday from a small rock on the highway
The car leaks from under the windscreen seal and has some rust bubbles under the paint as a result - that area will be resprayed and the windscreen fitted with a NOS seal
I really wanted to cover this before I put in the new second hand carpet

Cut of a small part of the remaining part where the hot exhaust air mixes with the cold intake air
Used a Polo 86C air intake tube - heated it up - stretched it over a coca cola can and pushed it oval and over the remaining oval part of the OG air filter housing
Even managed to use the OG clip and screw of the Polo part
Note that the hot air shield over the exhaust manifold was already removed
All done to get as cold air in a possible for the slightly hotter running engine on LPG

Split it open - cleaned it all out - removed all seals - put in new foam
Installed the new heater core - NOS tubes - NOS go through the bulhead grommet and some spare OG blue clipses I had from another heater core
Quite a PITA to install but with a little bit of patience everything went in fine
Now I do have a ver good working unit that doesn't smell when heated and doesn't leak
For future reference - those NOS OG VW hoses are just rebranded Gates hoses !

No idea what the PO was thinking…
On the other hand I found a solution of my very slightly dancing idle
To accomodate with the LPG setup the breather inlet tube at the air filter was closed up and the tube rerouted with a generic oil hose to a hole in the side of the air filter
Since the engine now breathed in front of the K&N air filter it got very oily
The rotation pulses of the engines with hot oily air mixed up with cold fresh intake air kept the idle slightly unsteady
I plugged the hole that was made and rerouted the oil hose to the ground
Now I do have a very and correct idle !
I ordered a Moroso oil beather catch can to collect the evapoured oil

Removed the old one which had several holes - cigarette burns etc.
Vaccuum cleaned all dirt - found some old coins from before the Euro
Used new under sound deadening from VW Heritage
Reused all correct clipses - the round ones I had NOS
Everything went in just fine
The Corrado tillable seats are a PITA to get in though
