KTM 886Y Bodywork and Respray!

Overdue update!

So… Years have past and stupidly I didn't give up with the old girl.

After an engine rebuild, a donor mk1, hours of welding, almost every panel being replaced and being on the brink sending it to the scrap yard, the MK1 is home.

The entire underside, arches and interior floor has been sprayed with Raptor Liner to hopefully protect it for years to come.

I decided to change the colour and after having so long to think about it, I'm so happy with my choice! - The entire car is now from a original GTI, but I love it and wouldn't have it any other way!

A few more weeks and hopefully I'll be out on the road driving her again!

I can not thank everyone who has helped me along the way enough!

Love this! What code is the yellow? And how are your seats trimmed? With yellow/black or the cleaned up red?

Great work on your Golf! I was wondering though. Do you happen to have some more pictures of the roof replacement? How did you manage this?

I have a 1979 GTI (with an ugl aftermarket sunroof) awaiting restoration and a aready have good used roof but hesitant on how to best replace it..
