80s Hot Hatch Car Enthusiasts Wanted - UPDATED INFO

Post

Heyup Fellas
Finally got through the door at 1.10 this morning after a long day of filming, but was well worth it!!
We started at South-End-On-Sea at around 3PM for some shots with an array of vehicles, then moved on to Essex Raceway at around 6.30.
Love Productions are keeping there cards close to there chests with this one, and very little was said on what they were doing for the series, but they did say that the format of the series would be different from the series we saw earlier this year.. The main part for the Golf, was to compare the GTI (Hot Hatch) against the run of the mill Golf (Gordon). In a nutshell Phil Glenister did say The GTI is a young lads car, and the LS is what his Mother would drive  :ninja: .
Either way they both got a good hammering around the Essex Raceway which was great fun to watch   . Have got a few photos from the day however weve had to agree that we cannot post any pictures on social media Pre-Production, so will have to wait till then  ;)

Good to see someone from the club got to represent us.
Well done for putting yourself out.
From personal experience I know that filming days take ages. Mine was in February in Liverpool as the wind came of the Mersey. Absolutely freezing!

Hope you got fed well too!

I have been rather quiet on this subject, due to not getting around to posting.

As For the Love of Cars is starting today thought I would finally let you all know that were asked to go along with the car for some filming and should feature on the Hot Hatch Special.
We have been told that this will be the 3rd May, which is a bit confusing as Chris is saying the 10th. Is it over 2 weeks?
The car will appear but not myself as they were very much looking for female drivers/owners with a more family orientated viewpoint so Judith was the one interviewed. I wont say any more for now, you will have to wait for the programme. I hope it turns out well.

The filming was done early November down in Ascot so we have had a long wait wondering how it will all turn out. Will know soon enough.

I asked the production team last week when the Golf episode was going to be aired, and they said to me the 10th. Its quite possible she told me wrong.... :)

Enjoyed that -Gordon your car looked great.  Really liked the ending.  Not sure about the bit about only being a couple of hundred left on road though!  That means we had 10% of them at Stanford Hall today if it was true.

I think that belongs to Volkswagen, the one they loan us for the AG, it's on the tv now and again.

Here's a pic from an old topgear when it looked slightly different..
