Oh and no relay for it, the 42/43 relay only handles coolant level warning light

To resurrect an old thread if I may… the right eyes might see it.

My '75 1500 auto has twin carbs on, it's had a facet electric pump on for about 20 years, last year i got a filter/ regulator fitted also.

A number of years ago i fitted a fuel pump override switch for an extra level of security though this was incorrectly wired due to my limited electrical knowledge at the time.

A relay for the pump should have been used, though can i still have the kill switch for when it's parked up and whatnot and still use a relay that works from the rev counter signal so that it kills the pump when the engine cuts out?

obviously, it's an early ceramic fusebox that i have. but i can follow a diagram if a remote relay is to be used.

cheers for any assistance. oh and happy new year!

yep you can wire the kill switch inline with the ignition live or the rev counter signal to the relay, that way there is no load on it :)

30 - main live, H spade
87 - power out, fused for pump
86 or 15 - ignition live, G spade 3 will work or you could tap to coil power, or whatever
31 or 85 - earth to claw near fusebox
1, 31b or 85b - rev counter signal, tap to coil negative red/black
