My MK1 is a German Built American Rabbit (Golf).  It was built Apri 8th 1976, a week after Steve Jobs started Apple Computers in his parents garage. She is Ralley Yellow, and has a 1.6 Lt engine with a Zenith 32/32 2B Carb. I have had her for just over a year, but my first car was a 75 Rabbit. As one can guess, I bought her to help bring back those old days.  The car is not fully restored, but an on going project.  She is my daily driver for that 3.5 mile comute to work.

That number/licence plate rocks! It's nice to see a yellow mk1 in such good condition, infact I hardly ever see any yellow mk1's. I can only think of a few regulars doing the show circuits. Anyway, that classic V dub place looks interesting, is it mainly aircooled stuff or can you get much for the rabbits/golfs?

There is not a strong MK1 support group in Vegas, so I find support on the web. Although the VW place makes a good photo, it is mainly air cooled.  Even the car show link I posted shows mainly air cooled, there was my 76 and a cabby.

Thank You all for such a great welcome. I would imagine the AGM would need a little more than a road trip, but would love to attend.  My family is originally from Chiswick, and I'm the only American in my family. Maybe I can make the trip in a few years.

I guess I could talk about myself a bit, I'm closing in on 50 years of age. I'm maried with two boys 9 and 12. I was in the Air Force, and stationed at RAF Feltwell for a couple of years.  I enjoy the South West Desert, and find Las Vegas is a great home base, 2 to 5 hour drive in any direction brings something cool.
