Mix it up as its meant to be 1 club not lots.

If we have a square in the middle of the camping ground, benches to gather on, gazebos put up, BBQ's going, no cars by tents, family area to one side then hopefully it'll make things really close.

No likes cliques, first timers feel left out and may not return. If you're a first timer, come and find me and I'll have a beer and bore you stupid with lame tales of the club!!!

Its a great idea Dan!!. To the people who will be coming for the first time….come along and see for yeself….it was my first last year and despite everything i loved it! I even walked round on the Sunday like a scruffy little tramp cause we camped and had more than our fair share of rain and sludge and i had no were to plug me hair drier/straightners in!! cant wait to do it all again next year!!!

What's the plan if the cars are not allowed next to the tents this year?

Might be bringing my campervan as well if i can make it next year. Is there going to be a designated area for them also?

Hi all,

I'm hoping to have a tent (work in progress) but for those who don't come with a tent, how does it work please?
For example, we might have to stay locally somewhere, so how does it work with bringing the car in and out of the (show area).

Is each car owner assigned a specific stop to park in or is it every man for himself.
Can the car be left there over night, in the event that the driver happens to drink a beer or two, just to be sociable or course.  :mrgreen:

Apologies for asking questions which to many may appear to be the obvious but as a first timer to the AGM are fairly important.
I'd rather look a bit thick now than really stupid come the AGM!

once you've come in one, your car will have a sticker on so we know who you are so you can keep coming in and out

We are thinking of having the cars parked on the Tarmac area away from the tents so once you've pitched, drivers move them to the parking area.

That makes for a quieter time, less cars moving about near the tents and sleeping area and more chance to look at them over the weekend.
Don't worry about leaving the cars on the site - there's plenty of room!!!

We'll be thrashing out the details in the coming months so stay tuned.

Not having the cars by the tented area .makes it more safe and it doesn't turn up the grass also it helps in organising into categories because they are all in one area already.

One thing that i've loved about every agm i've been to is the fact that it is a laid back easy going weekend.  Please dont make it too structured otherwise I feel we are in danger of losing this.  Also first timers, from my experience, i have never felt it is too clicky so please dont worry about this.  I talk to anyone!  (no comments please)! :wink:

We are trying different things Hazel, just to see if they work better.

While the Midlands, for example, have a large group, those on the outside may feel intimidated to approach on their own. By grouping everyone together it'll break down barriers and once drinks are flowing the mixing will take a natural course.

However it's laid out it won't matter one little bit to us as first timers.
Already know via the website a few people but wouldn't be able to tell the difference between Member A or Member B from a whole in the ground.  :dontknow:

That's what adds an extra something special to our trip over.
When we finally get there, we'll be playing who the heck is who for the entire time.  

Should be a real good laugh, especially as I am diabolical at putting names to faces.
Even with people I've worked with for over 12 years!

Can't wait.  :mrgreen:
