Jellybelly has joining the Turbo Diesel Club!!!
I had the same problem with my coolant expansion tank a while ago…years of chaffing on its mount had made it leak. There's so much movement/vibrations from the old diesel engine, it's worth checking things like hoses that are making contact with other parts and adding extra protection like tape if there's no sheath round it already. That's what I do anyway. In fact my clutch cable goes right over the brake fluid tank and rests on the cap so I have to keep the cable well wrapped up and keep an eye on it. Must be what happened to yours at some point.
P.S - Even the Mk1 DIESEL ONLY Haynes manual says 12mm discs, so I made the same mistake too when I last changed the discs.

done something a little bit different
bought this roof rack of a member on here
drilled the wood out as one was broken and was a bit rough
then gave it a good sanding
then a nice coat of silver
then gave it a laquer and laquered the new wooden bits
then let it dry for a but in the nice sunshine
put it all back together
rather than rivet i got some nice stainless button heads for fixing the wood back on
all i need now if fo my grandad to finish the new feet and it will look good on the desiel
all in all i've had a good day
what you think
