project chico
well as some of you know i managed to get my hands on a chico a few months back.
when i went to look at the car it was in need of alot of tlc and it was but not bad condition at all.
the paint work needed a polish and the body had the odd dent, a solid car or so i thought.
as you can see from the pic it looks like a solid car.
the harder i looked at it the more rust i found, so the strip down began.
put her in my garage and began.
took the wings off and to my horror when the car was made in sa they never put a proper under body seal under the wings.
so alot of time was taken to remove all the surface rust, reseal, prime and paint.
while doing this i found that the sill needs to be replaced, so thats what i intend to do this month.
after that i started on the wings and went through the same process, i also rolled the arches as i intend to lower the car at some point.
took the wishbones, ball joints, tie rods and bushes off and replaced them.
i then added some struts and gave the calipers a once over.
so after all that i got her back together and ready for the gathering
took her up to the gathering and had no problems at all, it was an amazing and fun drive up.
had a blast over the weekend and a really good drive home.
so as the car stands now it's in all in one piece but soon to have the sill replaced.

since the last time i have done a little more to the citi.
i've added a few bits to the interior.
and i've managed to get hold of some black diamond discs, front and rear and a set of coilovers that i am hoping to get on the car this weekend.
