Taxed GTI. Nearly 200 quid and its doesn't run any better or go any faster than it did before.

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

At least the government "let" you do it the day before, so its continuous, huh?

I'm pretending it's yesterday. I picked up my cabby from my mechanic. Starter motors are expensive. Still, the guy who owns the place then washed my car for me because he thought it was too dirty (that's what happens when you live in a ski resort and there's a constant layer of mud and salt on the roads).

Oh, that's the other thing I did yesterday: got my car dirty driving it back home.

Took the engine out…. Guess it defo won't be at UD then! D'oh.

Other stuff I did:

Filled my engine mounts with tiger-seal,
Removed aux bracket from the block ready for angle-grinder hackage, Removed the water pump to find mine does indeed have a plastic impeller, Removed a sump pan from my spare engine and cleaned it up ready for blasting and baffles,
Deleted the rear wiper motor and washer.
Wrote a huge list of shiny parts…..

Maybe we should update this thread and say what we're going to do today, and then see how far we all got in the evening?
