Dunno if I had a thread and it got lost in the swap over or just disapeared but im finally getting a move on with my car and figured i'd share. Basically I bought the car for my sister for her 17th birthday(6 years ago)on the premise that it was a straight enough car with a small enough engine that she could insure. Plan was to lower it slightly and throw a set of wheels on it for her.

put some lowered springs and wheels on it for her

but she decided she wasnt keen on it and she fancied a polo and so the slippery slope was greased…….

so I put some coils on the old gal

but the distributor died :( so I fitted a 1.3 carb :D

then the gearbox died :( so I fitted a  1.3 polo gt engine with the digifant injection :D it also had a cam and head and stuff so I was happy for a while :D

but my other love is wheels….so picked a set of OZ executives after a very very long time hunting

but they were for my jetta coupe really :(

whipped them off again then ugraded some mechanicals for the new engine

Post

I refurbed the executives a bit and they got wider

and had to throw them on for a while

it lasted like this for a while

but the engine I was building for my mk1 jetta was shouting at me………

and the inevitable happened

bigger again

powdered and poly'd everything

dubpower mani

and near as damnit in

picked up some new wheels in RS070 guise as part of a swap for another set from an old car

although they were a bit dirty

cleaned up fairly decent though

finally got them on

but the camber needed was a bit mental

made up some door liners out of binbags due to a leak

and picked up some fun bits and new bits

freshened it up and finally straightened the wonky indicator that had been annoying me

but I was mainly throwing wheels on and off while I had a lot of fun in it(ported head and cams, lightened and balanced, four branch and a jetex rallye…)

had my 15s on it for a while

but swapped it up when I got bored

or the weather got bad

Post

got some bits to tighten it up a bit and added them to seam welded wishbones

then it took a back seat while I worked hard for a while……… :'(

and got side tracked with a few dailies that turned into projects  :'(

and jobs that left me no time for much play  :'(

then decided enough was enough!!!!!!!!!

hatched a game plan and started amassing stuff

found another set of BBS's,RS001s this time and already in 8" flavour….refinished them a bit at my mates bit

centres,baskets and rings done

but they werent wide enough for the power Im planning…..

more like it

ill continue later as im on nightshift just now and falling asleep typing but one more pic wont hurt for now

Interesting thread mate. Lots going on here. Are you going for the full Berg cup look or just the wide arches?

Post

Its pretty much just going to be a track car, need the arches for rubber

missed a wee bit….while it took a back seat it sat up my sisters drive for a couple years  :ocf_emoticons__BangHead:ended up like this

battery was dead and the brakes were gone which wasnt a biggie as the brakes are all getting redone for the bigger engine again and the battery is moving inside the car but ten quid of fuel and a three year lay up and it drove  :wub:took it to my mates garage and he gave it a wash

and back to former glory

I had to go away to work again but dougie my mate got started on the prep for the arches

he cut out the front lip so he could try on the front arch too although I had been intending to go gf front wings later anyway

Post

first leave cycle back home and I took a couple wheels over to trial with the new lips

then we trialled on the berg arches

picked up the start of my fuelling system from obp motorsport, amazing delivery, they were virtually here overnight

FIA foam filled fuel cell

Swirl pot

and I got another berg kit from NSPlastics again because he had started doing fibreglass wings that incorporated the berg front arch to save trying to blend an arch to a wing

also picked up a dam this time but I still dont know if im going to run it or not

managed to get it up on the ramp at my mates before I headed back to work

started removing the underseal

got the bulk off it done but ill catch the rest once the tank and axle come off

also started to prepare for the flat floor pan

so cut this bit off

then took time to mock up the wheels again after I got the lips chrome powdered

Cheers Daz

I say I've got the kit, but I've only got the arches at the mo, will need a front apron eventually.  Found a set of bossman WL Motorsport arches on Club GTI for good money so snapped them up.

Glad to see you're not letting work take over your life anyway, definitely keep your threads updated
