Mk1 Replacement Conrod

Post

Simple question, I apologise if it's been answered elsewhere but I can't seem to find anything relating to it:
  • Will a Mk2 Conrod fit into a Mk1 engine?
I have a bent rod in my Mk1 1.8 GTi and cannot for the life of me find a replacement so looking for other options. Are there any other variants or cars that I could scavenge a replacement from? My engine code is DX.

Thanks! :)

You might want to post this in the section for big block engines as this is for small block (1.1 and 1.3) only and youll get more response in that section

I'm guessing your the same member from yesterday with this problem and a water pump issue, if not sorry but.

Did you send the list of parts you need to 'Funk-star' as he suggested?
