When do you arrive and depart and are you staying round the lake somewhere mate?

FYI - We have some others going without their MK1's so don't worry about that!  :)

Argh! :P The front-most clip holding on my side trim has just snapped and it's hanging off now :( Don't suppose anybody has a spare clip they could post me? Not confident VW Heritage will be able to come through in time and CQ is closed on Saturdays…

Looks like it's been glued back on at some point, there's a lot of tension pulling it outwards so the trim may be bent too :(

Couldn't quite see how the clips are removed, looks almost like they have to go in from the front - I assume the chrome trim just pulls out so you can push in the pin to lock it, but how does the clip engage with the 'rails'? Twist out or something? Looks like it may be easier to remove the whole piece and replace all the clips at once, but maybe there's an easier way…

JettyJ: legend, thank you! PM sent. I'm just south of Luton (M1 J9) if anyone wants to help out in exchange for all the tea and cake you can eat ;)

Yep I've got some, I'll post them later today.

Yep take the bit of trim off and any clips that are left in the body work just push trough with something like a screw driver and a wee tap with a hammer :)
I can eat a lot if cake byw! Lol

Awesome, thanks! Good job you're in Scotland, my cake is safe

Just to check I'm not being thick - does the chrome bit come out of the trim or does it come off whole? Not sure if you're supposed to fit the clips to the body first and then snap the trim onto them, or if the clips go in the trim first and then into the body, if that makes sense.

Thanks for the help though, one of the reasons I love this place

In other news I've finished polishing and sealing my new wheels, just waiting for a long enough break in the rain to fit them…

The trim should come off all in one piece.

Attach the clips to the car, tap the little pins in then fit the trim back onto the car (needs some fource sometimes) sending you 5 clips

Awesome, hoping it doesn't rain as my boot has a leak!

Hoping to get the wheels on today! Looking super-shiny after a couple of coats of Poorboy's sealant, shame the packet doesn't explain what to do if you squeeze the sponge by accident and get it all over your hands, it's so water-repellant you can't get it off again

WEATHER UPDATE!

My dates are from the 19th to the 24th.
So this time next week I'll be sat on the beach at the Park Hotel, Hans-Pruscha-Weg 5, 9210 Pörtschach am Wörthersee.

Our apartment has a balcony over looking the lake on the beach side.
I'll be supping beer somewhere in the middle of the beach on a sun Lounger with drop dead Babes dripping off each arm by now.
My Wife will be sat in the apartment on the phone talking to her Solicitor making arrangements for the divorce papers!  :P

Can't have it all I suppose.

Almost ready to go!

Need to crank the suspension up a little more as I can't really cope with speed bumps or corners at the moment ;)
