Saturday sounds good to me!!! and i will plan alot better and be kid free alot longer!!!! …. if everyone who was at the last one come plus a few more …. it will make a great mk1 day out!!!!

 Its Dan The guy with the red 'tin top' lol just signed up at last the computer is now working, just! It was a really good day on monday some very nice cars on display lack of 'tin tops' though but yuo cant win em all!

And to the we drive crazy remark we know our limits! lol! well my car does! Hope you guuys liked my car! only owned it for 2 weeks and i now have job as of today to spend some money on it! yay!

Wish I'd have gone now! sounds like there was a good turn out. I didn't crawl out of bed till 11.45  so figured by the time i'd have got there it would have hardly been worth it! I'll make more of an effort next meet! ops:

Saturday sounds good to me as well.  Hopefully I will have a clean car (am going to have to take a week off to get it as sparkly clean as everybody elses now!  ops: ).  Wheels alone will take me a fortnight

  OK folks, GTI Inters 2006 is on June 17th & 18th at Bruntingthorpe, Leicestershire. Sounds like we can have a club stand pretty much as large as we like, so who is up for this?

Please vote on the poll if you would like to put your car on the club stand - and as I always state, MK1's IN ANY CONDITION ARE WELCOME!! :wink If I'm there my Campaign will be too and it looks like a piece of dull poo so don't be afraid to put your name up if your car isn't mint, the more the merrier!!

No charge other than the standard entry - check out the web site http://www.gtiinternational.co.uk/ plus there is a 'Best Club Display' trophy this year.

Camping is available at a separate (local) venue (good excuse for a cruise!) Camping There is a separate charge of ?20 for this.

sorry i missed the meet, wont be able to make inters i got my son and my cars G60 lump wont quite be done by then, i'll defo make the july one tho cant wait.

Hi,i wont be able to make te saturday,i will be travelling back from cornwall,sunday will b ok though if you lot meet up at the pub again,i will bring a better mk1 than my green GX,maybe the diesel?

Hey guys, first post I made on the site, just wonderin what ya get up 2 at the meets? Would be cool to come down but I see that alot of your golfs are like 10x better than mine and you will prob laugh me out of the park!! How many peeps turned up at the last meet?

hello mate it was our first meet last outing and was good but weather wasnt.Didnt do anything on our first meet exept get to know each other .No car gets laughed upon no matter how bad all midlanders welcome where are you from mate and have you looked at our region page on the left.

I'm from Gloucester, you? Yeh I had a look at the regions pages sounds like a good crack. Would love to go on a mk1 cruise, would be mint. Have saved up for 2 years to get my golf and love it (had it 2 weeks now), best car since sliced bread, not sure if that saying applies but you get the idea. Wouldnt mind picking your brain actually mate, any idea how i can repair the bolster fabric?? Is there somewhere you can take it to be rehapolstered or is it easy enough to do it yourself?

Lets just hope I can get Sat of work.  

I did my seats myself it took about 2 weeks to do all the seats and parcel shelf!!! got my door cards to do so they match!!!

They aren't that hard to do; if your a wizz with a sewing machine!!! It took longer taking them to pieces and outting them back together again….

I am not happy though           the material i bought looks good but isn't practical….. my drivers seat needs re-doing again already (seat belt has nearly rubbed it through) need to find some harder wearing material and start again!!!

Still i am dead proud i had a go at doing my seats…..

craig_glos i was the same as you mate! nervous about meetin up with the o.c especially as my car aint what you would call tip top (red tin top on the pics). ive also only had the car for a couple of weeks (minus 1 week coz of it bein nicked)  :cry:

you should come along mate! well worth it!  

Yeh i will do def, wont be able  to this Sat as my mrs has organised a hotel get away for us or something. next time I will for sure, will give me a little while to smarten that car up a bit 2.
