My mk1 - ex Impact/Dubsport car

Small update. The spare wheel well finally turned up from Werk34 and hopefully thats in the car by now. Also the section of chassis leg has been welded in too but dont have any photos just yet.

I've also painted the engine for the red car using POR 15 products. Its 100% better than it was.

Then started bolting parts to it

How coincidental!
I have been wondering where to get one of these from!

89Euros for the panel.
How much was the shipping from Germany?

I think when I ordered it they said it was out of stock and would be 3-4 weeks but in the end it was more like 6 weeks mate.
I e-mailed them after 4 weeks to ask and just got a reply saying it would be 3-4 weeks  O_o  It turned up a week or so later.

Well unfortunately the car has come to a complete standstill at the moment  :(But not to be put off, I thought I'd try to get the redun sorted.
Well as usual it starts off small and quickly turns into something big. Getting the bay and inside footwells painted has turned into the whole car  :ninja:Heres some pictures of what I've been up to

And heres the car outside for the first time in 7 years and off to get painted

Hopefully get her back next week

Yeah she's staying red. I toyed with the idea of Porsche blood orange a few years back but its the darker shade of mars red as before. Deleting the exhaust cut-out as well.

Thanks Beeno, I can't believe how well the engine looks compared to when I first got it  :)

Are you going to mount the exhaust out under rear panel then?

No mate. The exhaust is already downswept (more like a diesel) so its just a case of filling the gap. It just means the car doesnt have a visible tail pipe.

You can sort of see its missing in this pic

Its just the same as it was mate. It was previously re-painted in the 90's and the lad chose the slightly darker Mars Red as opposed to the later (slightly oranger shade)

When I bought it I had the rear arches and wings painted and the bodyshop I used at the time used the wrong shade - which always bugged me

Edit - More pics

Also got my old seats stripped & the centres out my Recaros.

Refitting was a bit of a pain (bolsters need cleaning)
