Yup, got some parts for the mk2 on the way as it was missing a few bits here and there,also the first third of my bursary came through yesterday so thought i'd treat myself on some parts as i've been a good boy and not been out drinking (plus i got hit by a stupid woman at a zebra crossing this week so needed something to cheer me up) Set of RM centre caps, stripped and polished. Only ever been used for shows so practically new. Set me back a fair bit but to be honest they're worth it


Off out to buy myself a sandblasting gun and some fine silica powder on Monday, as they will make my job a lot easier and I can start doing bits and bobs around the mk1 and for other people

Mate has a halfords trade card so picking up some BMW graphite grey metallic for the RMs. This is on his G60 steels, will look pretty good against the red imo

Yeah, think it works out to £6 a can of metallic.

Picked up 10 cans of plastikote primer for a tenner the other day too so should have plenty for the wheels

Yeah MK2 is good ta. Nowt really left to do on it for now. A bit of pain and some running gear replacement will feature next year but just enjoying it now I've got the little things sorted and some ICE installed.

Focus now is for the MK1 - I finish work this coming Friday until the New Year so got a week to get my head down and get some work done on it

Decided against the graphite grey as it was a bit too sparkly for my liking, went for Toyota Decuma Grey metallic.

Here's my first attempt, by no means perfect but they're not gonna be show wheels! Just waiting for the lacquer to fully harden before I start to polish them.

Cheers ladies. Got cracking on the 2nd wheel today. Had a bit of a man flu this weekend so wasn't feeling too great, spent the best part of 3 hours sanding priming and repeating. Last coat of lacquer and my respirator felt like it was submersed in sweat….nope…nose literally popped big time. Unhooked the mask and a carp load of claret came out…. All over the fresh paint and messed up all my hard work! 

Will have to sort all that mess out as well tomorrow…ahthe joys of youth

Could be better bud! Had another 4 big nosebleeds after and they didn't want to stop. Might pop down to the hospital tomorrow but the gf is looking after me i'll be fine , more annoyed about the wheels and hope i didn't get blood on the old mans stag

Got one mounted to see if they'd leak, seem fine to me. £3 evostik sealant ftw

Had two of the wheels fitted with tyres on car car for 2 weeks and they're still at 30psi so the £3 sealant worked!

Took a bit more time with the 3rd wheel. Thick coats of primer then sanding and repeating to get those little nooks and crannies as good as I could do them. Look a million times better than the previous ones I did!

Popped over to the unit today to do some work. Was trying to get into the loft to find some parts, only way to get up is to climb onto the escort and jump up, ended up slipping and my fat ass ended up falling on the floor, sporting a nice bruise  

On the bright side, the scavenge did pay off, found a full set of mint door cards,mint clock surround and a pair of bumpers in decent nick plus some new mk2 interior goodies  

Got the door cards fitted along with some retro speakers, but no piccies  

Ouch unlucky but good find!  

Made a bit of room in the garage, mk2 is now gone!

I guess you always planned on shifting it on - it's come on well though, looks tidy
