The build up continues.

A shiner new Weber carb fitted, I was well impressed with the conversion kit, instructions were very clear, plus I found a video on YouTube to follow.

And on to the electrical issues. Lights were ok, just cleaned up all the contacts and replaced the bulbs, and one bulb holder was replaced because it had a broken clip.

Starting problems led to a Hot start relay conversion and starter motor rebuild, plus a new ignition switch .

Then the power roof non-function was eventually traced back to a duff thermo-switch.

Took her out for a quick drive up the lane today and found the non functioning fuel gauge was actually no petrol in the tank, and so we run out of fuel 100yards from home LoL.

MOT test - aborted.
Engine stopped and would not restart. Suspected fuel supply issue. I put some fuel in before the test, so may have stirred up some dirt, or the fuel pump is kaput, I think.

Last MOT was 2008 -

we are getting closer!!!

Once my cabrio decided to have a pin-pick hole in the top rad hose whilst awaiting its turn. There was a bit of steam from under the bonnet, wasn't sure if was condensation (it was a cold damp Feb morning), opened bonnect and a tiny jet of water was squirting at me!

Fitted a new fuel tank. Changed the sender and refurbed the rear beam, all new rear brakes from flexi's through to drums . Waiting for a new back silencer to arrive and that's me done under there,,,, hopefully.

MOT pass.
No advisories.
Today, a good dowsing of waxoil into the rear end until it dribbles out of the bottom…. that’ll do nicely.

Good to see I'm not the only one still using waxoyl in all those hidden areas. This nice hot weather makes working with waxoyl a lot easier.

Looks nice, you can improve those inner spots by taking the back off them and using some spirit and a rag and screwdriver

Cleans the fog off the inner glass ace 👍🏻

Thanks for the tip - I’ll get to it as soon as I get time from having fun driving it!!

Just be very careful removing and re installing the bulbs for the spot lights as if you touch them the little bit of grease on your fingers if left on the bulb will burn off when they get hot and that's what can cause the fogging of the glass inside the light.
