Giving someone else a chance to make it new again

Hi

I have had a 1983 MK1 3 door C 1.1 in our garage for the last 17 years, have always planned to give it love and attention but family life has always got in the way and money priorities have meant I never did.

we now have to move and make a decision on what to do with it , my friend wants me to keep it , but I am not sure .

There was only an advisory at its last mot for seat tilt cable broken.  But having sat so long it will require time love and money.

so my question is how best to advertise it and what sort of price.  I don’t just want to scrape it

Thanks for any help

Stick it on ebay with a full description and lots of pics. it will find its own value.

There was a time when even nice MOT'd non GTI/Cabrios struggled to make more than £1,000.

If your car is rot free, complete and unmolested even as a MOT-less restoration project it will prob make £1,000+++

1987 Alpine White 1.8 Clipper Cabriolet

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

Does the car start and can it move under it's own steam?

Cars just sat unmoved or touched for 17 years require some work to get them moving.

If it's not been started in a long time can you turn the engine over by hand and don't try and start it as old petrol/ rust from the fuel tank will block up fuel lines etc.

It's hard to say value with out see any pictures or description.
