Why do you own a Mk1 Golf?

Because despite the fact it's 25 years old and been shut up in a lock up for nearly 2 years it still runs like a dream, because of the way it turns heads when I'm driving it about, because I can't look at it, never mind drive it, without grinning, because it's retro and because they aren't ten a penny.
Had a few golfs (mainly mk3s) but the mk1 is far and away my favourite. now planning on a tintop for the winter do my cabby doesn't get damaged
