(red. I put the necessary white Weller wheels on, small steering wheel, uprated headlamps)

(Aqua green, BROWN interior. Great car, never let me down. Big spots on the front. Same as the Sport but with the 'luxury' interior)

VW Golf Mk2 1.8 1987
(Silver, small bumper with quarter lights. GREAT car…loved it…sold it to my mate who destroyed it within a year. Broke my heart!!)

VW Golf GTI 2.0 8v 1995
(India red. Only had it a year as it was a 'pre-alinement model'…read new but without the standard equipment..and it didn't drive well)

Land Rover Discovery 2.5 diesel 1995
(Blue. Went all round France camping in it in 1996. Finding dirt tracks etc. Great motor)

Vauxhall Cavalier 2.0 auto Diplomat
(Dark green. Split with girlfriend, couldn't afford the Landie so bought a reliable runaround…good car)

Ford Fiesta 1.3 Special Edition..cant recall which name 1986
(bought for Mrs Dano when we moved up North in 1999)

Vauxhall Astra 1.4 LS 1995
(Green, 5 door. Sold the Fiesta for this car, kept cutting out when hot)

VW Golf GTI 2.0 16v 1997
(silver 5 door 66900 miles currnetly on the clock. FOR SALE and will be traded in, in 2 weeks time unless anyone is interested. Goes like stink and keeps Mrs Dano happy. Better car than the 8v by miles)

VW Golf GTI 1.8 Cabriolet 1984
(Still got and use as my daily driver, WHATEVER THE WEATHER! Gaydon show winner. Very chuffed with it, its come a long way since I bought it 3 years ago. Oh and did mention that it has a BROWN dash. I must have a thing for brown when I look back!!)

(due to take possession in 2 weeks. Great write ups…lets see if it lives up to it name!!)

Bought for 3 months while I drove round the USA with a mate from school. Possibly the worst car I have ever driven - brakes were awful and warped, handling was non-existent, & bodywork was dented due to an incident with a HUGE deer… And as for the styling  8O However, it was still going strong after 200,000 miles so they must have done something right  

2. A 1997 Peugeot 306 1.6 - definitely a cracking car - handles like a dream and goes pretty quick - beat a Renault 5 Turbo off the lights the other day (although he probably wasn't racing   )

3. My fave - 1981 1.6 Mk1 GTi - yet to be restored but it kicks ass!

Those were the days of motoring….2 hours from Canterbury to Farnham, no motorways, no hold-ups……and hanging on for dear life getting 60 mph out of the 100E downhill, and losing the wipers going uphill…….
