Oil and filter done. Only had 300 miles on the last oil but been there a year or so. Timing reset as I had replaced the screw in the vacuum advance unit which had rattled loose and retarded a little when screwed back together. Ordered some new front flexi hoses also.
Like having a new car again

Is that standard?
Whip
/wip/
Noun - Car
When the steering wheel was first put into use in automobiles, it was called the whip. The term has now been generalised to classify any automobile.

i've replaced heater washer nozzle, on my clipper, and replaced twin plain spotlight grill, with earlier chrome version found nice hole for a tie wrap.. need to find a expansion nut or bung to screw into for corner section.
The drive has 2 car spaces free, maybe time to bring other projects home.

Got her out of the garage for first time since 2014, gave her a good wash off 👍

After sitting in the in laws garage for 7 years, it was time for her to come back home into a new garage I had built for her, just as COVID-19 appeared on the scene last March.
So pleased to get her home again 👍

Does it run Woz?
Started first turn of the key 👍
I insured her for the year, then booked her in for an MOT at a garage well known to us, which happens to be on the route from the in laws house and our house. and drove her home, great to drive her again.
I doubt I'll have enough time to get her ready for the AGM, as so busy with work. But I will come the AGM in sone thing, even if it's just the Caddy van……Bert needs someone to make him cups of tea 😁

few more miles and a few more battle scars… people get a bit jealous of old cars, with no power steering, no power, no brakes… and half the size of modern mini. carpark dents and massive scratch on rear bumper… Oh well one day ill fix him up.

What did you do to your Mk1 Golf Today ?

All I’ve done to the car today was dropped the roof and enjoyed a drive out.

Used EBC disks with Green stuff pads.
The pads that came off hardly had any wear, but the new ones are so much better. I only did the job because the (lack of) brakes scare me in this car. Glad I got it done before we drive down to Devon in it.
