What did you do to your MK1 today?
So what MK1 related jobs big or small did you all undertake today.
My list;
Removed a rotten wing;
Fitted a clean wing;
Removed a rusty headlight;
Fitted a decent one;
Took my grey VW badge out of the grill and sprayed it satin black;
Replaced leaky rocker cover gasket;
Sanded down and painted rocker cover with an old tin of VHT metallic black paint i had lying round in the shed.
Not bad for a days work i think. Plus was getting paid time and a half while i was swapping out the wings and headlights :mrgreen:

Went to a scrap yard, for a few minor trim pieces, fuel vapor seperator, and maybe an oil warning system wotsit, but alas no MK1's in any of my local scrappers so I cam home made a cup of tea and applied for a few jobs instead.

I filled the empty hole in the dash with the period (1983) Alpine radio cassette player that came with the car I bought just over a month ago.
Really tidies the car up and the best thing is the cool electrically operated retractable aerial which goes up and down as you trun the radio on/off…very retro!

Braided hoses, Green Pads & Brembos on the front.
Nothing on the back because I didn't realise I needed bearings and only bought drums
Tomorrow I start again, because the offside hose is rubbing on full lock
Might give him a wash when I'm done :wink:
