What speakers to get for the MK1

Hey Guys! Brand new to this forum, lovely find. Glad theres a place for these. I bought my 1989 GTI mk1 around a week ago and it has been so fun. I am looking to put new speakers in it though. Is this something that will be fairly easy? I want to remove all six spots that are in there now (top dash, back, and bottom front near the doors) and replace them. Does anyone know of any good speakers that fit these cars well? Or any past experience with this?

Hi, as per the link that lhassdreams kindly added for you in the post above, I have been through a lot in an attempt to make a mk1 golf sound good without altering the car from its stock door cards and speaker pods. I'm going to say it's not possible without making custom enclosures. I could write forever on this topic, so I will just say by all means give me a call if you want any advice and I will share what I now know, to help you get the most out of what components you decide to fit. 07861801582
