What wheels did you go for? The look good! similar to mine but with a shallow dish, did you coat them in anthracite?

eBay specials. £35. Then had them powder coated with new toys. No idea what make they are.

Thanks for sharing the pictures. That's a very nice car and I think you got a good deal on it. As quoted on your other thread, I reckon you got it for half price!
Can I ask where you found it?

Thank you, yes of course,  I'd been looking for one for a year or so, not so many about where I live in the Scottish highlands! Especially when only black will do ! Anyway, i heard about this one from a gent who bought a motorcycle from me. I had mentioned in conversation with him that  I was looking for a MK1 and he thought he knew where one had hiding for a few years, in the village of Lairg which was nearby. It wasn't on the market but I made contact with the owner anyway….he wasn't sure about selling it but was also looking to free up some space as he had various other classics. He'd refused to sell it to others over the years………I got lucky 😎 Only downside is no history…all misplaced over the years, but I am not worried about that.

Those p-slots are extremely sought after over here….

Get thee a Radiator Card, you will increase the cooling efficiency of your radiator. and not drop tools down there.

www.cabby-info.com has the templates for you to make one.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

Long drive for me…..but, if I could find the time I'd love to make it to the AGM, 3 of my good friends also have mk1 GTI's so we could convoy down from the highlands, after we sort out our breakdown cover of course  😂

Good to know as I can't see anything on the actual wheel.

Great Info

Get your lazy bum to the AGM!
We come up from the depths of Cornwall and, as one of members hates motorway driving, it takes us flipping hours!

You couldn't be any longer believe me!

Nice car BTW.

You won't regret it, it's impressive and a really great experience!
We have members come over from Ireland, Holland, Belgium and North Scotland. 👍🏼

Mind you that was with a plane and then rental car! 😉
