Please don't get the wrong idea, been a member since 09 and enjoy a bit of fun when possible. Just don't get the time to do anything but work, mostly on MK1 Golfs!
Enjoy your thread mate, it's a bloody good idea.

It's a laugh Pete and you get to see some other Mk1's and not from home.
Wait till you see some of the others I've got lined up, they will have your heading spinning and some not as perfect as this one!

Ok the moment of truth has arrived once again and the 'Asking Price' of this beautiful 3dr GL is € 9.990,- or circa £ 8.462,00
No one on the money this week and to be honest, not even close. The nearest is more than a grand off!
I see this car as what I would describe as a 'Museum' piece or a close to one as your likely to find.
Clearly the owner knows perfectly well what they have there.
Knock on his door with 8.500 in your hand and see if he bits but have another 500 in your back pocket and I expect you to be driving that away!

So now for the Winners.
1st Place 'smudger' with € 8.800,-  and 50 points    :ocf_emoticons__notworthy:
2nd Place 'GolyTheGolf' with € 8.750,-  and 25 points    :ocf_emoticons__eusa_dance:
3rd Place 'sweetmk1dub' with € 7.795,-  and 10 points    :ocf_emoticons__alright:

So there you have it.
Now if we were to take an average of the prices put forward we have the following result:
€6,973,- or £ 5,906,- and that's wide of the target by one 1/3!

So the points will be winging there way to you shortly and I hope you all had as much fun as I did.
Of course the Judges decision is final which is me but if I have made a Horlicks of it I'll sort it out.

One final point, you'll notice that 'Fathammer' didn't win this week and that's because his bride didn't arrive in the post as promised, in fact he came dead last!

I'll post up the next car up tomorrow.
Which will be quit a change of gear.

If you're not sure how to play or what the rules are, please go to the first page of the post and good luck!

I can't believe I lucked out on my first attempt. I've just got to now make sure I don't do a Chesney Hawks (one hit wonder)

I've thought long and hard over my acceptance speach this morning and I'd like to thank a few people for making this award possible -

My wife and kids, who without their constant nagging and moaning about gracing my car with more attention, love and affection than I do them, I wouldn't have spent hours in the garage or with my head under the bonnet to enable me to come up with my winning guesses.

Mike (Golfcabrio)  great idea, great game.

And finally all those in the SW/Bristol region for their ongoing support. Especially Pearcestu, Arf333 and Richyhill - Rich, I hope the gender alignment operation is a huge success, you deserve it sister !!

Looking forward to the next instalment of the game.

you forgot to thanks the Japanese for producing such cheap suspension ! ;)

ATTENTION suspension of points for the Winners!
Well I said before that I don't have that many point to giveaway before.  :(
I've now only enough for two cars and I want to hold those back for the two X-Mass specials I have lined up.
But were are to keeping the game going away and your playing just for the glory which should be enough anyway!

A real big THANKS to the members who have kindly donated points to me   but unfortunately they count towards my points to 'spend' and not to 'giveaway'!

OK, so lets stop drooling over car No4 and move on to car No5.

Car No5.
VW Golf GL Diesel. Limousine, 1982, 152200 km.
Very well maintained VW Golf 1 car, garaged, 1982,
Since 1985 I'm the second owner,
Non smoking car,
MOT runs until 01/2014.

Mileage 152200 KM
Year 01.1982
Power (kW) 40
Used condition
diesel Fuel
manual Transmission
Drive front-wheel drive
Exterior color Red
Number of doors 3
Number of previous owners 2

I kind of find this one interesting personally.
It's done 94,500 Miles, which is nothing at all and it still has the old style number plate which has not been issued for more than 25 years.
Whoever buys the car will not get to keep the plate, as it will automatically get the EU model. We don't see these plates very often now in Austria.

Now you know as much as I do, so whats the 'Asking Price'?

After the total failure with the last car (coming in last) I need to get my mojo back.
This one feels a bit tricky to me though, a well looked after car in good condition, not been tampered with or pimped, with reasonable milage and a clean interior. But then again to me its nothing stand out like the previous green mk1 but I do like it a lot.
So its all down to how much the seller wants and what I think is a reasonable price to pay.

I'm going for €2450

I'm either bumping down the road like I'm riding a space hopper or knocking my spine out over the bumps. Still, I do love ride height so not all bad !!

Nice looking car, I think Fathammer is a bit closer to the price on this one so I'm going to say an asking price of
€2250
I think the owners could drop to as little as €1800 with a bit of haggling!
