How long have you owned your MK1?

..I thought it would be nice to start a poll - I don't think we've done this before?? So I'll start it off

I've owned mine almost 10 years now - purchased my GTI on 29th December 2003. Sadly the latter half of that time it's been in bits in my garage and if it wasn't pouring with rain on the open side of the garage now I'd be rectify the situation    

I bought mine in 2003 aswell. Can't remember the exact date but it is over ten years. I was 17 and it was 23. I remember thinking 'yes! 2 more years and its free tax!'. Nope. I found out 2 years later that they stopped all that   

i bought mine in september

put my vote in for + 30 years ownership. My car is having a nut and bolt rebuild to as bought condition  and is currently in primer but should be running in 2014.
The best part of owning when it was new was that it was so fast and nimble it could take on most other cars and win. Only real problem I ever had was with a BMW M535i where the GTI was quicker on the twisty bits but couldn't live the Beemer on the straights

had mine for 4 years (ish) and still love it every day (unless it breaks   )

Bought in June. First winter with it. Luckily in a garage.

Bought September 2012 and has only seen the road once since then  

Im 20-30…Purchased 6/11/86 and never been off the road…Have every single MOT,Tax Disc,receipt and bill (some from previous owner) ..Mk1 ownership for me is for life…Love every single minute behind the wheel and can't way for spring ..lol

Wednesday 17th July 2002.

Towed 200 miles on a strap up the M1 and M6 behind a diesel Cavalier! Never again!

I remember yours at the early Gaydon events Jerry. Still liking it years later!

I hope you can hold your breath a long time while you wait for Hairy!!!
