1.8T AGU Brake check valve to MK1 brake servo problems

Post

Which vacuum check valve!?

As per title….existing check valve has two ports on the vac side (going to the intake manifold/engine). The two ports are connected to nothing…okay to get these sealed off? Or should they "bleed" off pressure to somewhere else? When originally in the Mk4 Golf chassis where would they have been connected to?
I've recently bought the car with the conversion and slowly working through the gremlins….the major one being trouble with brake pedal trouble, hence checking the vac side of things first before bleeding etc.

Appreciate any help and guidance.

I guess they would need to be blocked off if they have nothing to attach to as it will cause a massive air leak especially if the hose goes to the brake servo like a standard car.

Try it and see if the brake pedal is better.

I'm only guessing as my car is standard.

Both brilliant! Thank you!

It appears to be the remnant of the Mk1 brake setup which the Mk4 engine doesn't need the vac takeoff. I've blocked these off and car idles at the correct speed again. Great!

Now need to replace the hose with correct vac hose as noticed the existing stuff ils getting compressed under the vac pressure….this could be attributing to the odd brake behaviour.
Let you know when it's sorted!
Cheers!
