Orange Mk1 golf

Heres some latest shots of the Mk1, its going to be a forever project really, picked it up as an unfinished project and its just about ready for the road now,

it started life as a red driver 1.3 and the lad i got it off got as far as dropping a 1.8 16v kr in with bike carbs and spraying it but left it at that, lots of small jobs to be done , gear linkages carbs set up wheels etc etc .

im happy i bought one that had already been modified as my ideal mk1 was always going to be a stripped out lowered un-original car so this example was a good starting point, solid shell, coilovers already fitted and good price so it was ideal.

its been gathering dust for months making slow progress, interior has been pulled out and replaced with bucket seats and i have slowly been doing lots of little odd jobs.

the bike carb setup isnt ideal as the tuner couldnt get timing etc spot on due to the setup and lack of vacuum pipes to ecu etc but Mike evans motorsport in shrewsbury have done a good job with what they had to work with, it sounds great and certainly doesnt lack poke.

over the years im sure it will change colours/wheels/engines etc but im happy with where it is for now and glad its finally on the road so i can join my friend in his schirocco and get down to edition at the end of the month.

One day when i have more time etc I would love to undertake a full restoration and pull everything apart and start from scratch like a lot of you guys but its fine for now.

any comments etc welcome, i love the style of the wheels its just a shame they arent a bit wider but oh well!
