#2 injector leak?

Post

Hi all, bought a mk1 with a 1.6td engine swap a couple weeks back, happy mostly with the car, although the guy i bought it from Artek, whos on here, failed to point out the rust around the rear passenger seatbelt (a rusting point i didnt know about), in addition to wiring up the stereo to the hazards and indicator relay, but anyway, thats not the reason for the post.
I got home today, as i pulled into the drive noticed a distinctly mineral small in the cabin, lifted the bonnet to find diesel splattered over the inside, leaking from #2 injector? (2nd from left). booked in tomorrow to get looked at, just wanted to know what it could be? seals? seating? etc just to prepare for costs/work needed.

any help/ info would be greatly appreciated. also if anyones seen the car before, any views? just want a second opinion.
cheers

Update:  was weary to start again, save for the very short trip tomorrow, but wanted to know exactly where the fuel was leaking from, looks like the top of the injector? cant feel a crack/split, seems to be spitting out quite quickly.

#2 injector leak?

The steel pipes can fracture on these engines, or it could just be a rubber spill pipe.

When I was driving a diesel if the motor mounts on the timing belt side went and I was not right on top of replacing it, then the lines usually cracked on the seam of the line.  But once I was driving it and the rubber end cap came off and the equalization port would drip, weap, or spew Diesel, and I would smell it in the Cabin from the air flow of the blower.

Check the rubber equalization lines and end cap,  As they are at 1 atm, regular rubber fuel lines can replace the steel jacketed ones.  If it is the rubber plug, a piece of hose with a screw in it works really well.

They all start with GOOD Grounds.
