Mk1 injection tank is gravity feed to the pump NOT a lift pump from the tank??

Hi all, its been quite a while since I was on here. Last Mk1 I had I fitted it with an ABF with lift pump from tank to an external swirl pot, filter and main pump. The one I have now has no tank fitted and I don't have a sender/lift pump and see they are very hard to source at sensible money so can I assume that if I get an injection tank it will gravity feed to another external swirl pot, filter and pump?

IIRC the sender unit from a POLO or Skoda will work it just has a straight up connector instead of one that is horizontal to the tank.  So a search here for Skoda or Pol sending units you should get a few hits.
