Post

Hi any advice what I can use other than a caddy tank? Mine is not working and rotten  and I'm desperately in need of replacing it, anyone used anything different ? Also I've posted on the buy and sell site,
Thanks again

its either a used caddy tank or get one custom made, nothing else has the outlets in the right place or the right shape. petrol and diesels use the same tank but are very difficult to find second hand as they all tend to have rusted on the end nearest the cab, I had to reair mine after a 180 mile trip to bude (art1234) for one, only to be told if I wanted one without holes I needed to buy a whole caddy.

you could try and make a noose with some copper pipe and some string, bent to get to the swirl pot area in the tank. with that you should be able to get some rubber hose over the ends of the pipes, then pull one end of the string to get the snare tool off the pipe.

as for rust, small holes can be drilled out and pop rivted then painted over with petro patch, bigger holes can be welded if precautions are taken to remove the fuel vapours

Thanks I'll have a go and see where it goes, I have a tank on there at the moment just need to keep it topped up, now ideal but will do until I get the others fixed

I know this is an old post but I've got this issue. I've done a full tank clean and already put it back in place. I've swapped the in and out on the tank to feed from the return side which is a smaller diameter hole but it's working a treat so far. Has anyone tried this and what can be the issues I'll find in the long run?
