you want to relocate the relay above the fusebox as per VW recall, the pump power pin on the rear of the fusebox is too small and often burns out. Get yourself a VW relay holder 161937501b, these are cheap from the dealer and just need standard non-insulated latched spades 6.3mm for the larger terminals and 2.8mm for the smaller ones. Use the factory s1 type fuel relay with in built fuse.

You could use the later fusebox relay, but that would need an inline fuse plus a different relay holder 867937501 and the 30 and 87 terminals use larger 9.53mm non-insulated latched terminals

wire your relay like so:
30 - H spade
15 - ignition live, G spade 3 will work
87 - fuel relay power junction box near the A pillar
31 - earth
31b - rev counter feed from fusebox, tap into red/black from coil

Mark carter from classic-vw.co.uk used to do factory style relocation kits back in the day, drop him an email see fi he still has some

Can anyone tell me what this green and black wire connects to? And should there be anything connected into the red and white wires going into the t connector?
Thanks

thats the fuel relay power wire, it looks like its started to melt the fusebox pin socket. common issue hence the VW recal where they move it above the fusebox as I mentioned earlier

the spade block you found is the fuel pump power distribution block. the fusebox pin above goes there, plus the yellow/red fuel pump power wire and the red/white for the WUR and AAV

G and H are spade connections on the rear of the fusebox, piccy here:
http://clubgti.com/showthread.php?219775-Fusebox-FAQ&p=1945620&viewfull=1#post1945620

the wires on the junction block are red/yellow and red/white usually, assumign its not been messed with. you cant miss it, clear spade housing 2 spades on 1 side and 1 spade on the other kicking about near the A pillar (has wire to fuel pump in there, and another from the engine loom for WUR and AAV)
