Want to refit an original mk1 cluster I found at the junkyard yesterday. Some differences are more obvious than others.

Whip
/wip/
Noun - Car
When the steering wheel was first put into use in automobiles, it was called the whip. The term has now been generalised to classify any automobile.

I suppose there is no way to take the MFA of the mk2 and fit it in the mk1 tacho?
Also, what is the sensor unit doing behind the speedometer (yellow on mk2, absent on mk1)

I doubt it. Anyway that mk2 one is 16v and fairly rare so I wouldn't destroy it for a mk1 cluster.
