Blaupunkt classic original radio removal guide (Paris Stereo CR)

Hi all,

Here's a guide for how to remove your classic almost vintage Blaupunkt radio from your mk1 golf or any other car, I was unable to find a topic on this matter before I started out so hopefully this will help someone in the future.
These headunits don't come of the same way as more modern ones, and with the parts becoming older, harder to get and even more brittle I recommend taking great care and taking your time doing this.
Anyway the reason I wanted to remove my radio is because I've mounted an electric antenna and I realized that this radio has a specific output for this.

so the starting point is this

carefully pull off the two selector knobs and the underlaying levers and note which side is which. take great care to notice the dual and triple function of these levers when refitting them.

once they're off screw off the two black washers, they aren't washers they're actually threaded and holds the whole radio in place… I was able to screw them off by hand.
when they're removed you can take away the plastic trim piece plate and then it will look a bit like this

solid bracket there holding it in place..
now take a flathead screwdriver to the holes in the sides and carefully prise them inwards to be able to take the bracket out from the front.

with the bracket removed the bare radio can be pulled out

my antenna wire in place

and now this fella comes up whenever I turn the radio on  ;)

here the full diagrams for the thing, next step is to add a 3,5mm jack but I haven't found a way for this for this model yet, if anyones done it I'll be happy to know how you did! been searching around on pages like https://www.youngtimerradio-shop.de/ but there doesn't seem to be a simple solution

Love those Superhetrodyne AM/FM receiver schematics.

The issue with retro fitting is that you have to interrupt the input to the Preamp to the final amp with 3.5mm jack. Depending on if it is using Transistors or Chip Amps.  Severing and installing a "Kit" all depends on your skills… For Cassette Players the kits that you insert a conversion tape and 3.5mmjack wire from Phillips works well, as that is what I made my kids use in my older cassette players…

Cheap and it works.

I suppose that is why I converted from my Premium (LCD panel was Blackened) to a JVC Media/bluetooth
1/3 the size and 1/4 the weight.  With the conversion wiring kits, it is totally reversible, but hey…

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?
