vinyl hood adhesive

 Hello folks,
Am about to fit new vinyl hood shortly but can't find a suitable glue for sticking down front of hood and maybe rear window insert after painting frame. I would have thought (and still do ) that 3M would be best but the spec sheet of the one I saw said "may stain light vinyls"   mine is beige so I thought I'd ask what others have used on lighter vinyls. I want to avoid spray adhesive as it seems the heat of sun can loosen it. Any comments would be welcome, thanks.
