water pipe work on 1980 driver

  have 1.3 2g engine out of mk2 golf fitted and trying to get water pipes for it mainly thermostat housing a few questions first from pic1 i think the 2 water out lets are for heater system if i am right pic 2 is of the incomplete thermostat housing i have do i need a different one if not what are the 3 small out lets for

The t-stats that I have seen on most Water Cooled are on the bottom of the water pump.
